I used to use Dr. Denese's vitamin C serum because according to popular Dr. Nicholas Perricone, vitamin C prevents oxidation and skin damage. I was using this on my face - until I discovered that often these cosmetics are made YEARS before we get our hot little paws on them! Vitamin C, in particular, should be fresh because it is easily oxidized. If this has occurred, the vitamin C serum will turn yellow gold ... well, take a close look at the cotton bal belowl. Looks like an egg, doesn't it? That means I was using that stuff to improve my face - and I was unwittingly harming it.

Notice the bright yellow/gold color. This means that stuff has oxidized. Therefore, instead of stopping oxidation as Dr. Perricone mentioned, it was the increasing the oxidation of my skin and damaging my cells!
